Photography
My friends tell me I’m a bit picky and obssessed with little things (you know, those people who have to ‘arrange’ and stuff, that’s me.) but when it comes to photography, I love it all! I like people and colour and harmony(?) between them so I take photos. I’m not a pro but just like the other people who like photo. I started shooting after I got out of primary school in 2000 and still to this day I have the same excitement feeling about it. Mostly, I snapshoot of people, and I guess that’s it. That, literally, is the most of what I do with my camera. lol. (It’s fun!) Moreover, I like looking(?) at people, I love the way photos make people look like. I mean, I love how photography can make things look better than reality. (or perhaps I just like recording what’s happening around me but anyways.) The followings are what I use at the moment.
Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 DX Fisheye

This is a 10.5mm, super wide angle lens for Nikon’s digital SLR cameras and also my all time favorite lens. I bought a second hand one from Trade Me recently and I think I’ll keep it for pretty long time. I still use D50 I bought approximately 3 years ago, and on D50 body, This 10.5mm gives the same full-image result as the 16mm gives on FX camera and film camera. THIS IS A LOT OF FUN! Check out the photos in Category/Fisheye.
Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF

This lens’s, I think, one of Nikon’s least expensive lenses BUT it is also one of its sharpests. I always wanted a 50mm lens for portraits but I couldn’t afford for the F1.4 but then I saw this at a reasonable price so I clicked on the purchase button right away! I’m very very satisfied with this one and I think I’ll never ever need to buy any brighter ones. This lens is also the fastest lens I have in my collection.
Nikon 18-55mm DX

This came along when I bought the body (D50). Since then, this has served me perfect, even though it’s become my least favorite lens now. All the pictures I took within South Island, New Zealand was by this one. However, it’s broken now. The auto-focusing is gone.. Do you think I used this for too long? 3 years?
Nikon SB-400 Speedlight

This small E.T. shaped flash does a lot of things. With this! you can bounce of the ceilings and stuff. I promised to go to Auckland and play with this with Moo as soon as I buy this but I still haven’t ..aaa.. carried out the promiss yet. lol.
Well, I haven’t finished this post because it’s Friday night and I have to out now but I will right more later on. You probably saw the pictures and skipped the most part but thanks for reading anyway. I’ll take the questions below. Cheers.
