I know. I know. Do’s and Don’ts. The Principles of Design. The first, basic principle of web design. Screen resolution. I’ve even written a number of essays about them for school creadits.
Designing web sites to fit all resolutions is a very important web design principle so always decide on the lowest Screen Resolution, and use expandable Website Design. Standard for screen resolution is 800 by 600. If you design for a higher resolution, users may have to scroll back and forth or up and down to view the full content so you need to work in terms of percentages, not pixels. So I did.. sort of.
However, I don’t know if I really have to make the web pages viewable at 800 x 600 resolution. Not that I didn’t try that. I did try and all that comes out as result on my 3 year old, cheap, non-name brand 21″ monitor is a horrible unreadable small dots sitting in the corner of the brower. Moreover, also there are many things that I learned to consider, such as technology level of audience, purpose for the site, types of content, consistency, clarity, or user friendliness.
It’s just too many. And about site map page, or if you ever get lost, I’m sorry.
